Romain Edouard

IGM Romain Edouard , currently rated at 2665, is at the fore of France’s new generation of chess talents.

At the age of 5 he was taught chess and decided to continue his journey. His major early successes included winning the European Youth Championship U16, silver medalist in the European & World Championships U18, becoming an IM in 2007 and soon after a GM.

He helped his team win the French team Championship in 2007,2008 and 2010 and has been a part of winning teams in other European leagues as well.

In 2012 he became French co-Champion and won a strong open tournament in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.

He’s achieved his greatest success to date recently, at 2013 European Team Championship, helping his French team win the silver medal and earning an individual gold medal on the third board.

He has assisted former World Veselin Topolov at numerous events.
